PREPARE WITH PURPOSE

Sermon Preparation & Bible Lesson Writing

Bring your subject, your passage, and your own words into one clear workspace. Sermons & Lessons helps you organize a message while keeping Scripture close at hand.

Prepare a sermon or lesson

Start with a subject or a Bible passage

Sign in and open Sermons & Lessons from your account. Type a subject, such as prayer or trust, to see suggested Scripture references. Choose a suggestion to add it to the passage box. Suggestions are starting points for study, rather than proof that a passage supports every use of a topic.

You can also begin with a reference. Start typing a book name, such as Deut, and choose Deuteronomy from the suggestions. Add the chapter and verse or verse range you want to study. Select your Bible language and edition before reading.

Read the passage in context

A selected passage begins with a short preview so the workspace stays clear. Choose Read more to expand the entire selected passage. You can add or remove passages as you refine your subject.

Before writing your application, read what comes before and after the passage. Notice who is speaking, who is being addressed, and how the passage fits the book’s wider message. My Study Room provides chapter lessons and word study when you need a closer look.

Write your own sermon, lesson, or notes

Use the writing box for your own message. The editor supports basic formatting and lists, so you can separate your introduction, main points, illustrations, questions, and conclusion. Saved preparations let you return to a message later.

Keep your central point clear enough to state in a single sentence. Connect each teaching point to the selected passage, and distinguish the biblical text from your explanation or illustration. You can download a preparation when you need a separate copy.

  • Subject: What question or need will this lesson address?
  • Passage: What does the selected Scripture actually say?
  • Explanation: How does the passage develop its main teaching?
  • Application: What response does it call for today?
  • Discussion: What question will help your group reflect?

Keep preparations in your account

Your saved sermon preparations belong to your signed-in account. Browsing these public guides does not grant anyone access to another person’s writing. Use New preparation to begin a separate message and View saved to return to your collection.

When you are ready to teach, start a live study and share its invitation with participants. Guests can join the live session without making an account.

Common questions

Will BiblaLive write the whole sermon for me?

The workspace is designed for you to prepare and write your own message, with Scripture suggestions and passage lookup to support your study.

Can I start with the verse instead of the subject?

Yes. The passage field suggests Bible books and references as you type. You can select Scripture before deciding on your subject.
